Peter Dowling

Peter Dowling is Managing Director of oM. He has worked in book and magazine publishing since the 1980s. He holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and an MBA (Distinction) from Edinburgh Business School.

He’s worked in editorial and management roles for publishing and media companies in London, Tokyo, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as freelancing as an editor, correspondent and communications adviser. Recent project work has included export management for educational publications in North America, a web-based publishing venture in Asia, and industry research in Latin America. He was formerly publishing manager for New Zealand’s oldest and largest publishing house, Reed Publishing.

 

 

Alessandra Zecchini

Alessandra Zecchini is oM's Creative Director. Alessandra was born and brought up in northern Italy. She moved to the Waitakere Ranges, west of Auckland, in 1997, after living in London and Tokyo and making extensive travels through Europe, Asia and the Americas.

She has a BA (Hons) in design from the University of East London, and completed additional studies in Japanese and textile design while in Tokyo. As a writer and editor she works with publications in Oceania, Asia and Europe covering the areas of cuisine, travel and business. She is also a food stylist and teacher, the author of two cookbooks, Sweet as… (2004) and Savour (2006), and a contributor to several other books.
